The New Picture Plane @ Lesley Heller Workspace

The best thing about Siebren Versteeg’s paintings is that they so easily blend into a show of abstract paintings on the Lower East Side without anyone being the wiser that they are made by writing code directs a computer to randomly assemble colors and brush strokes to create art. I still think the palate is a little muddy, I’ve got to say it’s pretty great to see the work with a bunch of traditional paintings. The whole show is like realizing that your loved ones are really robot versions of themselves. Crazy, if not kind of fun. Again Siebren Versteeg, the only person not named Cory Arcangel who can reasonably be called a new media artist.

Through Apr. 14th
