Arne Svenson "The Neighbors" @ Julie Saul Gallery

Ugh, minimalist pictures of small glimpses of people wealthy enough to live in NYC apartments with floor-to-ceiling windows. That reveals nothing about the people, the architecture or the world, except for the enjoyment that people occasionally find looking into other people’s windows, which is far from a riveting artistic revelation. But much to my delight, the pictures have caused a stir. Apparently the residents of the expensive downtown condos are outraged at the violation of their privacy, because the rich don’t understand how blinds work or, for that matter, privacy laws. Spoiler alert, you can’t legally expect much privacy while standing in front of a floor-to-ceiling window.
