Andreas Gefeller @ Hasted Kraeutler

I understand that it is hard to sell a Roe Ethridge that looks like a torn snapshot, and not everyone is going to buy a Christopher Williams picture that reenacts a 60’s Kodak instructional manual. And that large abstract photoshopped photographs that show the overdevelopment of Japan are easier to move, and galleries are businesses and that even good galleries show utter crap because good photography doesn’t often sell. But it is tragic to think there are impressionable undergraduates on class trips right now being exposed to this kind of drivel and running home to layer some images together. Shows like this should be off limits to anyone under 45 who can’t prove they have $20,000 in disposable income.
